About:
Ling (Alex) Lai (b. 2000, Chengdu, China) is a fashion designer and visual artist working across fashion, photography, and art direction. He is currently studying Fashion Image at Institut Français de la Mode (2025–2027), following a background in Fashion Design with Marketing (Communication) at Central Saint Martins (2020–2024).
His practice explores contemporary social narratives through a personal and culturally rooted lens. Drawing inspiration from everyday surroundings, autobiographical moments, and his Asian heritage, Ling creates work that is both playful and conceptually sharp, often blending subtle humor with visual tension.
Through fashion imagery, staged photography, and visual storytelling, he constructs intimate yet performative worlds that reflect on identity, relationships, and the quiet absurdities of modern life.
